Bataleon Snowboards is proud to announce a monumental addition to its global pro team: industry veteran Halldór Helgason. Halldór’s prominent career as a snowboarder, company owner, and pro-archetype has spanned close to two decades and is just getting started.

Hailing from the unlikely town of Akureyri, Iceland, Halldór began turning heads at a very young age. Recognized by global brands for top-shelf video parts and podium finishes, Halldór’s name has been synonymous with a creative approach to terrain, mind-bending video parts, and an infectious enthusiasm that has defined a generation of snowboarding. Halldór’s arrival marks a new chapter for the brand.

For more than two decades, Bataleon has been dedicated to making snowboarding more fun through innovation. By doing whatever comes to mind, Bataleon’s known for delivering countless industry-first technologies and always pushing the boundaries of snowboard hardgoods.

“After spending years in the snowboard business, I’ve realized that I want to continue being surrounded by good people, focus my energy on riding my snowboard, and leave the ‘business’ to the people in the office,” said Halldór Helgason. "Bataleon was my first choice, I love working with everyone there, the Team is sick, and I’m really hyped on their products. Thank you Bataleon, I’m excited for this new chapter."

Halldór on Bataleon has been a dream of mine since the first time I saw the kid (at that time) ride," said Dennis Dusseldorp, Founder & CEO at Low Pressure Studio. "When the opportunity presented itself many years ago, neither Bataleon nor Halldór were ready for it yet, but we got creative and started working together. Now, all of the stars are aligned, and while it feels unreal, it also feels as if Halldór has been on Bataleon for the last twenty years."

Snowboarders around the globe can expect to see Halldór putting Bataleon’s snowboards, boots, and bindings through the paces alongside renowned riders like Ethan Morgan, Toshiki Yamane, Ulrik Badertscher, Tor Lundström, and many, many others.

Order has been restored to the universe. Welcome to the team, Halldór.
