The TIDAL Art Show in Laax, Switzerland is the brainchild of Aaron Schwartz and Jonathan Voellmy. Back for its 4th edition, TIDAL merges the worlds of both snowboarding and contemporary art.

Each year, TIDAL brings together ten celebrated, international artists and provides them a weeklong residency at the GALAAXY building in Laax. During this residency, the assembled artists, shared meals provided by the in-house chef, took some time to snowboard and used the improvised studio to produce new works.

For TIDAL 2025, the invited artists were: Jessa Gilbert, Janiv Oron, Alexander Tank, Lucas Beaufort, Thomas Stöckli, Dean "Blotto" Gray, Dion Agius, Flora Mottini, Portia Wassick and Laila Blessano. This esteemed collective produced a diverse range of work including; 16mm film, lino prints, installations, snowboards, painting, sculpture, illustration, sun-based photography prints, and a live audio performance based on the sound of melting ice.

The culmination of the residency is showcased in an Open Art Space Exhibition at the Riders Club, which provides an opportunity for the public to engage with the both the artists and their work.

As ever, TIDAL is more than an art show; it's a celebration of the community that thrives at the intersection of snowboarding and art.
